Custom Quilt Order

In all of our work we strive to create harmony and balance between the elements of design and color to create a harmonious tonal appearance. Years of the study of Feng Shui, with its principles of chi and energy flow, has had a direct impact our design process.  As we piece the fabric shapes and colors together, its like we're painting on a canvas except we're mixing pieced blocks, sashing, and borders for our compositions to create a beautiful energy flow across each original quilt's surface. 

Our quilt design style is eclectic. We don't shy away from a difficult challenges. We have worked with diverse themes and color palettes. Subject matter runs the gamut of fantasy, steampunk, and Disney icons, to surreal metaphysics, to traditional Romantic, Nouveau and Deco, to nature and wildlife, to seasonal and holidays (especially Halloween and Christmas), and to energetic, bold kids and soothing pastels in crib designs. We enjoy finding inspiring fabrics and panels based on a number of diverse artists including Gustaf Klimt, Joesphine Wall, Jason Yenter, David Galchutt, and Janet Wecker-Frisch. Although we're often inspired by the techniques, arrangement of shapes, or the color combinations of other designers, we try to never copy them. We will take inspiration from them and mix it with our unique Barker ART! "magic touch" and make every quilt totally unique: literally a work of ART!
